Samsung introduced many new features for Galaxy devices this year with One UI 6.1. The circle to search was one of the most appreciated features, making retrieving information easier.

The company initially introduced this feature to the Galaxy S24 device and gradually expanded to more flagship devices. Now, the midrange device has also started grabbing the update.

Circle to search is one of the most appreciated features on the Galaxy devices, which has brought man utility functions like the primary function of quickly searching for information about the encircled object. Along with this latest development, the company has also started rolling out the music identification feature.

Circle to search availability

Samsung has expanded the Circle to Search feature with the One UI 6.1.1 update to some flagship devices, which includes:

Recently, XCover 7 received the Circle to Search feature update with the August 2024 patch. As it is a rugged device, which is generally not so popular among mainstream users, Samsung surprised us with this update.

Circle to Search is now available for midrange devices in the latest update

Samsung initially introduced the new AI search feature for the flagship device with the One UI 6.1 update, but it hasn’t followed the same for midrange devices. Now, it has decided to bring the feature to midrange devices.

Samsung smartThings to expand the functionality to more IoT devices

Samsung has already worked on providing its services to make the SmartHome device work interconnectedly. To bring the functionality under single functionality as it has introduced the SmartThings, now the company is joining hands with Ashley Home stores to expand the possibility of smart furniture.

Ashley Home stores is the largest US-based furniture store chain; now, with the latest partnership, Samsung is also preparing to open the duo’s flagship store, Samsung SmartThings Home, at Ashley on October 19 in Brentwood.

The main aim of this store is to provide a new experience of furniture with the integration of smart appliances and devices. Consumers will be able to purchase furniture and Samsung products at the store.

Samsung showcases new features of smartThings

During the press conference, Samsung and Ashley demonstrated how it can work in various spaces like kitchens, home offices, and bedrooms.

In the demonstration, it has revised new ways to use the electronics; for example, people can enjoy viewing art on Samsung’s lifestyle TV, the frame.

Samsung has said that SmartThings is compatible with over 3800 devices from 340 brands, including smart plugs, door locks, and smart bulbs.

Samsung One UI 7 is currently in the top discussion on the Internet, as Samsung has officially confirmed that it will introduce the stable update next year. But fortunately, we have seen a glimpse of One UI 7 running on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Let’s explore it.

According to the video (via Sammyguru), there are many new UI changes spotted, and it will provide several new features that will provide several new changes, like initially it will provide the square buttons matching with the app icons, the power menu now has circular buttons.

In the video, we can clearly see the power menu options, where four options are available, including power off, restart, emergency call, and medical info. The notification shade also spots a pill-based design, while this is the default icon.

Going further, the WiFi icon next to the battery indicator in the image above is labeled as WiFi 5. The latest UI also refreshes the default dialer app, or perhaps the phone app. Here you can see the bottom icons are changed and following new design language.
