Galaxy S24 & S23 Series to Get New AstroPortrait Camera Mode

Samsung officially unveiled its One UI 6.1.1 software version initially on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 recently. This update has brought a bundle of new features, including AstroPortrait, which is coming to the older Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series soon with this One UI 6.1.1 update. 

Samsung AstroPortrait Mode Coming to Galaxy S23 & S24

This is the first time Samsung will release its One UI x.1.1 iteration on a Galaxy S series device. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series are in line to receive the One UI 6.1.1 update. This latest update will bring a new feature called AstroPortrait mode to enhance the capturing experience. 

The Korean giant announced that the AstroPortait feature will soon be available on a few Galaxy S series devices. Check out whether your device is compatible with receiving the AstroPortait; the list is mentioned below: 

  • Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23. 

The brand will make this feature available through the Exper Raw app. Moreover, the feature may be activated after the One UI 6.1.1-based software update. However, the giant has not mentioned that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones will receive this feature. 

The AstroPortait mode is a part of the Exper RAW app that can capture detailed photos of the night sky without any professional photography skills. It seems that this feature will only be compatible with premium Galaxy smartphones that are powered by high-end processors to handle the functionality of the feature seamlessly.

Samsung Health monitor support end from December 23

Samsung has officially notified that it will discontinue the software support for the Samsung Health Monitor from December 23. According to the information, the Samsung health monitor new version 1.4.1 will support Android OS 9.0; support for 10.0 and 11.0 will be discontinued.

However, it doesn’t mean that the older version users will not get the functionality of the app. But it will be limited to ending the software support for the app for the respective Android version.

So Samsung has recommended its users update their phones to the latest version before the deadline to enjoy the services without any interruptions.

Samsung Health monitor features

There are many new features that will provide several new changes for the devices; let’s explore them more. Basically works along with the integration of the ECG function that lies within the Health Monitor app that allows users to receive notifications of their atrial fibrillation (Afib) or sinus rhythm while also calculating the heart rate rhythms. 

As the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are Wear OS-based Galaxy smartwatches, it’s also expected that all the newer smartwatches launched after the Galaxy Watch 4 will probably get the new irregular heart rhythm notification feature soon in future updates.

Samsung has already jumped into the slim phones segment with the Galaxy Z Fold SE, which is released in limited regions, including China and South Korea. According to several rumors, the company is planning to introduce the Slim variant of the Galaxy S25 next year.

Galaxy S25 Slim will also adopt a 200MP camera

Similarly, like the Galaxy Z Fold SE was introduced with the 200MP camera, the Galaxy S25 Slim is also reportedly going to be equipped with the same camera that will also be available in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

According to the report, a new module number SM-S937U was spotted in the IMEI date labels. It is further said to be the Galaxy S25 slime, which is expected to arrive with higher specifications.

Additionally, a popular Ice Universe claimed that the Galaxy S25 Slim exists and has an “Ultra” camera. However, this may cause confusion among users if the full setup will be exactly the same as the Galaxy S25 Ultra or if it is talking about just the primary camera.

It goes with the similar Galaxy Z Fold SE camera setup, so it may bring a 12 MP ultra wide camera and a 10 MP telephoto camera. Meanwhile, for the selfie camera, it may introduce a 12 MP front camera.

Earlier today, Samsung rolled out the November 2024 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 devices in the US. The update was spotted for the Verizon locked now it is expanding to more carriers.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 spotted getting a November 2024 security patch update are now available with the firmware versions F936USQS7GXJA and F721USQS7GXJA, respectively.

With the latest update, the company will provide several new enhancements internally, which will improve the overall security of the devices. The update is currently spotted on the Verizon network and is expected to be available in more countries in the coming days.

According to the official documentation, there are more than 50 fixes done with the latest update. More specifically, there are 38 patches added by Google to enhance the security on the Android level. Additionally, there are 13 patches exclusively added by Samsung that will improve the working of the devices.
