Samsung Galaxy users get ready to experience a taskbar on Galaxy smartphones with Android 15. Google could offer an Android taskbar on regular smartphones with the upcoming Android 15 update.

Undoubtedly, Google is actively working on Android 15, which is reported to bring a taskbar for regular smartphones. Meanwhile, Samsung is also looking forward to rolling out the latest software version, One UI 7, based on Android 15, which means it will adopt some features from Android 15.

Google introduced a taskbar with Android 12L only for larger screens. At first, the giant made it a persistent bar at the bottom of the screen; later, with Android 13, it got upgraded and became optional. With more updates, Google made the taskbar appear briefly on smaller, larger screens, like foldable screens, for improved usability.

Until now, the taskbar has only been available on bigger-screen devices such as the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and more. But it will not only be the case for large-screen devices anymore, since with Android 15, it could arrive on regular smartphones.

If the report is to be believed, Google is developing a new, compact taskbar for regular smartphones as part of the upcoming Android 15. If this comes true, then it will enhance multitasking capabilities, as has been discovered by a tech expert who managed to enable it in the beta version.

However, the final inclusion of this taskbar in the stable Android 15 release is uncertain, and it remains to be seen whether the taskbar will be compatible with regular smartphones.
