Samsung collabs with Intel and Qualcomm to expand OLED production for laptops

Samsung is collaborating with Intel and Qualcomm for laptop OLED displays. The brand has been using the OLED screen for its flagship laptops for so long. 

The Korean brand is looking forward to expanding its OLED technology in laptops, for which it is shaking hands with Intel and Qualcomm to enhance OLED performance. Undoubtedly, Samsung Display is the world’s biggest small and medium-sized OLED panel maker, and it is working with two other chipmakers, Intel and Qualcomm, to add an extra layer of upgrade for the adoption of OLED panels in laptops. 

has already started providing Tandem OLED panels for Apple’s new iPad Pro. It will reportedly supply OLED panels for future iPad Air and iPad Mini models, and some reports claim it will soon supply OLED panels for Apple’s future MacBooks. 

Samsung is aggressively investing in OLED production. The brand plans to invest $3 billion to build a new OLED production line capable of producing over 10 million panels annually by 2026. This move is driven by the increasing demand for OLED displays on laptops. 

At the Korean Display Exhibition, Samsung Display CEO Choi Joo-sun stated that technology, production scale, and customer collaboration are essential to strengthening competitiveness in the laptop market. It is also looking forward to spending $3 billion to build a new OLED production line capable of producing over 10 million panels annually by 2026.
