The Korean brand has ditched its Samsung Messages as the default messaging app on newly launched phones. The brand stated that it was making this move to “accelerate the adoption” of RCS and to deliver a “more robust and engaging” messaging experience.
The new report revealed why Samsung decided to switch to Google Messages as the default messaging app on new Galaxy phones. The recently launched Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 have preloaded Google Messages. The reason behind this change is just to take steps toward accelerating the adoption of RCS.
RCS offers upgraded messaging features over SMS, but its widespread use has been limited. Google Messages offers border RCS support across carriers. On the other side, Samsung Messages’ reliance on carrier networks has obstructed its adoption. Adopting Google Messages as a Samsung device may help more people experience the benefits of RCS.
Although, currently, Google Messages lags behind Samsung Messages when it comes to sending and receiving images through RCS, Samsung’s client can send uncompressed images via RCS, whereas Google’s texting applications heavily compress pictures. Samsung Health monitor support end from December 23
Samsung has officially notified that it will discontinue the software support for the Samsung Health Monitor from December 23. According to the information, the Samsung health monitor new version 1.4.1 will support Android OS 9.0; support for 10.0 and 11.0 will be discontinued.
However, it doesn’t mean that the older version users will not get the functionality of the app. But it will be limited to ending the software support for the app for the respective Android version.
So Samsung has recommended its users update their phones to the latest version before the deadline to enjoy the services without any interruptions.
