Samsung’s upcoming phones could be ditch physical keys
Samsung is gearing up to announce brand-new smartphones. It seems that the giant could ditch the physical buttons on the upcoming Galaxy devices.
The Korean giant always tries to offer innovation with the latest smartphones. The new report suggests that with the forthcoming Galaxy smartphones, the company could eliminate physical buttons in place of virtual ones.
If the report is to be believed, the leaked images of future Galaxy smartphones hint that under the hood, Samsung is working on a patent that eliminates the ritual physical buttons from smartphones.
Despite the rise of digital controls, physical buttons such as power and volume remain essential on almost all devices. However, now that one can manage many functions virtually, these buttons offer a tangible and reliable way to perform basic actions. A few devices also include extra physical buttons for specific functions, for instance, activating a voice assistant.
It’s expected that Samsung could remove the physical buttons from its future smartphones, and the reason behind this appears to be that it offers design flexibility but poses technical challenges.
Removing physical buttons could result in more innovative smartphone designs, but it also introduces complexities regarding the durability of buttons, failure predictions, and integration with curved screens, particularly in foldable devices.
The patent suggests that completely virtual sensors will replace the physical buttons. They can also work beneficially on curved displays, as it is possible to insert these sensors not only on the flat surface of these smartphones. The patent also showcases several virtual keys, each designed to perform the main functions. It includes the power button, the volume control buttons, the fingerprint sensor, and the function button (PSA-2). Noticeably, you can also customize to launch an application or a particular functionality.

Samsung Health monitor support end from December 23
Samsung has officially notified that it will discontinue the software support for the Samsung Health Monitor from December 23. According to the information, the Samsung health monitor new version 1.4.1 will support Android OS 9.0; support for 10.0 and 11.0 will be discontinued.
However, it doesn’t mean that the older version users will not get the functionality of the app. But it will be limited to ending the software support for the app for the respective Android version.
So Samsung has recommended its users update their phones to the latest version before the deadline to enjoy the services without any interruptions.
Samsung Health monitor features
